SIMPLE ELEGANCE

When an extension was no longer an option for this young family’s townhouse, they reached out to me to help them redesign their entire main floor and basement! By removing several walls and adding a kitchen nook bench, we created a brighter living space with room for larger pantry cabinets and a peninsula with stools in the kitchen. We avoided any black and instead opted for a soft pallet of whites, creams and blues. Our favorite soft blue herringbone backsplash adds color in the kitchen without overwhelming the white Ikea cabinets.

SWEET DREAMS

The master bedroom is the first of many other rooms to design in this beautiful new-build. The black windows helped with our farmhouse and transitional design. We added interest and texture to the walls with a vertical wall molding and kept the style moving with a timeless, cohesive design. We also styled the room in soft, neutral colours to enhance relaxation. The husband helped by constructing the console table and bench we used to make some of the furniture unique to this couple.

BRING ON THE COZY

It was such a joy working on a blank slate! My Yvette Brind' Amour project was a new construction and lacked warmth and character.

The newly transformed entrance invites you into this open concept home.

I provided this loving family of 4 & the cutest dog ever, a living room with built in storage and a stunning fireplace wall in cement look. The dining room sparkles in timeless elegance including a showstopping staircase wall.

I was able to play with different textures, wood tones, metals and colors to breathe life into their home.

MODERN FRESH

From a basic and outdated kitchen to a modern lovers dream kitchen! This family of 4 hoped to renovate their kitchen in an urban and transitional style. With this in mind, we went with Ikea cabinets in matte black and white fitted with half-moon handles in brass to add interest to an otherwise basic space. We also mixed in custom woodwork in Walnut on shelving as well as for our decision to include a functional pull-out drawer for the toaster oven and espresso machine. Also, we placed in different textures and materials to create a kitchen full of personality. To make this space even more incredible we covered a previously hidden beam in stained wood to become a showstopping element in the overall design.

GLOBETROTTERS SETTLE DOWN

Everyone wants to travel, but not everyone has the opportunity to do so. Here, we focused mostly on the clients life-style - a couple with a care-free spirit who enjoys traveling together. What more can you ask for with this bohemian style living-area that highlights a home full of life and culture, with a hint of mid-century decor. The small amount of color gives the eyes an intriguing factor while the neutral background provides a calming and muted ambience. Not to mention the wrap-around-the-corner shelving which makes this room the main focal point of the living area. Now, the room appears more spacious while being surrounded by many memorable items collected along their travel journeys.

COMFY CLASSIC

This family’s living space went from traditional to transitional with a bright and friendly feel. The paint colour made such a difference! We went for vertical shiplap, a light wood mantle and marble tile surrounding the fireplace which the husband remodelled himself! By mixing some of their existing items with some new handpicked additions, as well as placing some much-needed storage and cozy seating options, this family now has a comfortable and personalized space to snuggle in!

COZY MEETS MINIMALIST

As low-maintenance as it may be, living in an apartment generally means settling-in for smaller rooms. Essentially, it gives home-owners limited living space and makes hosting parties very challenging. Here, the main focus of design is to have a clean and open space with the respect of keeping it minimal, yet functional for the whole family. The simple moulding design on the wall provides an eye-catching appeal to anyone who enters it, while the pop of modern decor gives the room more character. Now, this stunning minimalist and modern living area is ready to welcome guests to celebrate any type of occasions.
